Yoga Sita
Potrero Hill

Try Something Ancient

"Sita" in Sanskrit means " A furrow for planting seeds". Yoga Sita is a place for planting the seeds of your Yoga practice, or deepening it.

Susannah Bruder has practiced Yoga since 1986, and lived on Potrero Hill since 1981. She teaches Yoga in a classic manner including breathing, asanas or postures, vinyasa, mudras, and specific restorative or therapeutic practices. There is no brand attached to 'Susannah's' Yoga. Yoga has become branded as popular systems such as Astanga, Bikrim, Flow, Hot Yoga, Integral, Iyengar,Shadow, etc.

The 'type' of Yoga at Yoga Sita is a combination of elements from classical Yoga, contemporary systems studied by Susannah, her own practice and education, inspiration of a few great teachers, and every student interaction. Susannah brings fifteen years' Teaching experience to each session.

Students at Yoga Sita are lovely people you will be happy to practice with, ages 7 - 84. Classes are mixed level, and in any class you will be among first time beginners to advanced/teacher level students. The classes are intentionally not offered by level; it is the "yug" or yoking, bringing together, of the individuals' strengths, limitations and understanding, which forms Yogic energy within the group. Private lessons are available for individuals and groups. Pregnant women are invited to join in any class; modifications & extra care always offered.

Yoga Sita opened in April 2005, and will celebrate 6 years on The Hill this Spring. Susannah has taught extensively in San Francisco and Oakland, starting in 1995, until finding the beautiful space which became Yoga Sita, a place for planting the seeds of Yoga.

This lovely space is available to rent for classes and events. Contact Susannah directly.
